The Relational Value Evolution has begun….
Nearly a decade ago, our founder Gary Baker set out to discover what it means to “be exceptional” in life and in business. He wanted to identify what it took to have an exceptional life and/or lead an exceptional company. He met with thousands of leaders and companies that he believed were truly exceptional because they stood out among the crowd. People in the community wanted to be a part of their mission, organization or company. They were being sought after for their vision of what is possible in life and in business.
Through the multitudes of conversations with exceptional leaders, he discovered, at least from his perspective, that there were common characteristics and traits in these people. He determined that exceptional people and companies strive to provide as much value as they can to all of their stakeholders. They chose to be a catalyst in the lives of their stakeholders by empowering them to become the best they can be in life and in business. He discovered that exceptional leaders and companies create and deliver “relational value” in which they put the needs of their employees and their customers at the core of their mission. They thrive because they have leaders who not only provide financial value and intellectual value BUT also relational value - that is the primary difference!
The mission crystallized once Gary gathered a group of Thought Leaders who wanted to help other leaders, companies and communities bring Relational Value to their respective groups. The cohort of Thought Leaders created the Relational Value Organization. A group of the best and brightest who believed that the best was not behind us, but in fact, right in front of us.
We believe that industries evolve over periods of time; however, every 40-50 years the evolution is systemic in nature because the change is not based on improving the current system, the system itself changes. There has been a mindset shift, a desire for personalized outcomes and personal development.
We believe a unique “window of opportunity” has opened because every industry is ripe for change. Which means every company has a choice to evolve, adapt, adopt or they will be left behind. We understand that making a change in this world is not easy, but it can be done. It comes down to one simple word: choice.
We believe every person has the ability to create a multiplying effect, negatively or positively. That ripple effect can start a chain reaction that creates a culture in a company that can change the lives of their employees. Those employees can then impact the lives around them, at home, and in their community. Those ripple effects are what can change communities, just one person at time.
We believe that this opportunity is not a once in a generation opportunity, it’s bigger than that. It’s an opportunity that will change every industry, for generations to come. The “Financial Value” and “Intellectual Value” we provide our clients and employees in the past will not be enough to compete in the next cycle of economic advancement. The Relational Value created and delivered will be the primary determinant of a company’s success in the next leg of economic growth.
